All attempts taken by the government over the last few months to curb price-hike has apparently gone in vain making things virtually difficult for survival of common people mainly low-income family. Prices of essential commodities are gradually increasing in the name of price-hike in international market though paramilitary BDR and Rapid Action Battalion formed monitoring cell, introduced price-list and opened fair-priced outlets.
Consumers dissatisfied with WASA service : TIB study reveals

Nearly 52.6pc of every 100 domestic consumers of Chittagong Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) are not satisfied with the services provided by the utility agency.
They are grossly annoyed on the utility agency for its ever declining quality of services and only 3 percent subscribers expressed their full satisfaction over the utility services provided by the organization, according a recent study.
A recent study on the consumer satisfaction has revealed this earmarking dozens of reasons behind their annoyance. Local chapter of Berlin-based the Transparency International (TI) and Committee of Conscious Citizens in Chittagong (CCCC) jointly carried out the study.

WB urged to formulate terms compatible to socio-econ context

Speakers at a seminar on 'Challenges for Bangladesh in becoming a Middle Income Country (MIC)' here on Saturday urged all to come forward for making Bangladesh a middle income one within next ten years.
They urged the World Bank (WB) to formulate easy terms and conditions keeping in the country's socio-economic context back in mind.
