Hearing of graft case against Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Alhaj ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and two top officials of the corporation has further been deferred yesterday for non-publication of gazette notification naming CCC chief engineer Mokhter Alam as co-accused in the case.

To curb snatching police takes aggressive step

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) at last embarks upon a new strategy with utmost might and valour to wipe out snatching incidents the most pressing criminal issue of the city in recent time.
"We have formulated a detailed strategy and are pledge bound to play aggressive role to cope with the dreadful and serious crime in Chittagong city " M Akbar Ali , BMP , PPM , the newly appointed commissioner of CMP told this in an exclusive interview with The Daily People's View at his office on Tuesday afternoon.

3 wheelers not to be allowed to ply without meter : Akber

The newly assigned Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) M Akbar Ali on Tuesday firmly said that no CNG-run auto rickshaw or four stroke three wheelers will be allowed to ply in the city without installation of tariff meter.
As part of the drive against meter less CNG, the commissioner said atleast 277 auto rickshaws have been seized for irregularities which have been dumped into DC traffic headquarters

Call to bring dynamism in tax collection
Acting Mayor Alhaj M Monzur Alam emphasized the need for bringing dynamism in collecting revenues. He called upon all officials of revenue department of City Corporation to realize revenue from the beneficiaries and the successful revenue collectors will be awarded and the defaulters will be reprimanded. Acting Mayor was addressing the revenue officials of CCC at its auditorium yesterday.

Ferdous Tower appartments handed over to clients

Chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed Tuesday stressed the need for boosting productivity, export competitiveness and diversification to sustain in the global market after the removal of EU import restrictions on Chinese clothes.

Police record murder case against Nizami, Mujahid

Keraniganj police Tuesday recorded a freedom fighter's murder case against Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami and secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and seven others.
The duty officer of Keraniganj Police Station, sub inspector Nurjahan Begum, confirmed the news to bdnews24.com Tuesday evening by phone. Muzaffar Ahmed, Muktijoddha unit commander of Dhaka district, filed the case with the court of judicial magistrate Ashikul Khabir on Dec 17.

31st night celebrated amid frustration of youngsters
